Children Today Run WalkDate: Sat 25th, May 6:30 amVenue: Marina Greek Park 386 East Shoreline Dr Long Beach, 90802 On Saturday, May 25, 2013 (Memorial Day Weekend), Children Today will host its 5th Annual Run/Walk Fundraiser. The event, consisting of a 5k and a 10k, will take place at Marina Green Park in Downtown Long Beach (off Shoreline Drive on the Beach Bike Path). Last year, over 1,000 people participated in our 4th annual Run-Walk fundraiser, helping to raise more than $65,000 for Children Today's Play House programs. All participants will receive a free t-shirt, goodie bag, and access to a fun party with all your friends! This year we hope to increase our participation and raise $100,000. To accomplish these big goals we need your help. Whether you run the race, become a volunteer, or join in on the fundraising, each person can make a difference. Don't miss out on this fun event! |

Walk for Warriors will be located on the beautiful Veterans Affairs Campus in the Brentwood community, and will be a day filled with family fun and entertainment for all ages. All proceeds will benefit military veterans that have struggled to make the transition from service. |

55th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry FestivalDate: Mon 27th, May 10:00 amVenue: Euclid St & Main St Euclid St & Main St Garden Grove, 92840 Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, 2013-Started in 1958, The Garden Grove Chamber of Commerce put on the first Garden Grove Strawberry Festival as a way to bring together the east and west sides of Garden Grove. The festival became and has always been a charitable event benefiting local organizations. In the past 50 years over $4.5 million has been donated to hundreds of non-profits. On the festival grounds visitors can enjoy carnival rides, parades, contests, celebrity appearances and stroll rows of booths and purchase a wide array of strawberry treats, fresh strawberries, other food and merchandise. |

We are grateful for the support over the 24 years to provide funding to end new HIV infections. This year as we celebrate the 25th Silver Anniversary of AIDS Walk and all the new events, we encourage you to dig through your closets and wear the t-shirts from 24 years of the Walk. The Foundation is a social change agent that believes in inspiring and collaborating with other community organizations to prevent the spread of HIV through education; & provide support for those impacted by HIV/AIDS. |

Kenwood St Glendale The Third Annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser is set for Sunday, June 2, any time between 12:30 – 3:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church of Glendale, 134 N. Kenwood Street, Glendale. The event will benefit Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley (FP-ESFV) in their efforts to provide safe shelter, meals and support to homeless families. The Empty Bowl premise is simple: independent potters, arts associations and other groups within the community create handcrafted ceramic bowls. Guests who purchase adult tickets are entitled to a one-of-a-kind bowl, in which is served a simple meal of soup with bread and dessert donated by area restaurants. They take their selected bowl home with them as a symbol of the hunger and uncertainty homeless families face daily. Last year, hundreds of area residents attended the memorable event. |
